I pledge...
I will give to myself as I give to others.
I will value my health as I value the health of my loved ones.
I will not ask "should I or shouldn't i?" about matters of self-care. I will just DO IT.
I humbly accept that I must work to be the best me I can be.
I will choose to work for myself, rather that abandon myself.
I will embrace adversity as an opportunity to test my mental and physical strenght.

I am Engaged!!
On Saturday, February 21st, 2009 it was Jason's 34th birthday. We woke up after sleeping in a little, made birthday lovins, took showers and left his apartment. There was suppose to be snow storms all day, but we had a lot of things to do so were just planned on battling the roads. First we went to breakfast in St. Johns and it was yummy. I love breakfast! Then we drove to Grand Ledge and went to the Verizon store so I could get jason his birthday present.... A new phone!! We were there for a few hours but it was ok and he loved his phone. We put my phone in his name there and that is what took so long. Afterwards we drove to the movie theater and saw a movie with Dakatoa Fanning... ugh I can't think of the name of it right now but it was good... ok I looked it up, its called USH and it was about ppl with special powers and it was a good movie!! After that my car wouldn't start but we got someone to jump it. I left the headlights on!! Ahh!! So we went to the Lansing Mall and ate at Olgas then I got a manicure and that was really nice. Jason went and picked up MY RING!!! I didn't get to see it yet. After Olgas we went to my house and I changed my clothes and Jason went down to the barn to show my parents my ring and ask them if he could marry me!! We left my house and went back to his apartment and hung out there for a while. We werew waiting to go to the bar. He asked me to marry him... it was so sweet!!! I love him so much. We went to the bar with his brother and Mom and Ed and it was fun. Jason sang every song for ME and I was so happy to watch him sing and listen to him. He sang- Feel that Fire by Toby Keith. He sang Chicken Fried by Zac Brown band, Im Yours by Jason Mraz, I'll Be by Edward Mcann. There were prolly some other songs too but I dont remember. He got a lot of free drinks and was pretty drunk and cute and funny. I drove Mike's car home and we went to bed!! It was an awesome day.
I feel GREAT!!!
I have embarked on a journey of better health, physical strength, and inner mental harmony! I checked out the book "Body for Life for Women" By Dr. Pamela Peeke. I am only halfway thru and I feel like it is already changing my life!!
I have been working out for the past few weeks, even before I got the book. Rosalee and I have been going to the gym. I went swimming at the Grand Ledge High School pool with rebecca and Arielle and my kids last Wednesday and we had an awesome time "working out" in the pool together while the kids played. Last Saturday Jason and Mary and my kids went swimming there also and that was fun. We had a few nice days last week and Jason and I took the kids to the Wacousta playground and there is a nice long path with a lot of hills and Jason and I walked for about an hour while the kids played. We were always within eyesight of the kids and we got a nice workout in and had good talks too. Tuesday and Wednesday I worked out with Rose and I am SOOOO proud of myself!!! FirstI walked on the treadmill for 25 min then I did some weight training things then I went on the eliptical for A HALF AN HOUR!!! I was SOOO impressed!!! The first time I ever set foot on an eliptical I could not go for more that THIRTY SECONDS!!! Now I am going for a half an hour!!! I am so geeked!!
So yesterday was Wednesday March 25th and we did go to the gym on my break but after work I took the girls to open swim and I got a SUPER GOOD workout!! The girls had a lot of fun and Melana and Jacob and Zach and Elizabeth were there too. It was a lot of fun!!
Last night I was laying in bed and jason was holding me and He felt my arm and he said, "Oh my gosh!! It feels more muscular!" So I pulled up my sleeve and flexed my arm and by God, it DID feel more muscular!! I am on my way to a new life with better health!!
I got a pedometer on Monday and I took only 8,000 steps on Monday but On my break I went home and took a nap with Jason so that is my excuse for that!! On Tuesday I took 15,000 steps!! Wednesday was 13,000 (but its not like I could wear it while I was in the pool for 2 hrs!) When I am at work I pace the hallway when there are no patients. I am on a mission here!!
When I am at the gym on the treadmill I repeat a little mantra that goes a little something like "I am so happy now that I am thin, healthy, and fit." And I feel great!!
